My website is down and my emails are not working again
This has happened 3-4 times this year. What is the problem?

Thanks for the kind words guys.  Please believe that we do understand what a pain this has been.

The planned modifications to our Basic Hosting server begin tomorrow.  Once complete, and with any luck,  these attacks will no longer be able to touch us.

We'll keep you posted on the process.

Well, it's human nature to complain :)

But to be fair, Dynadot's basic hosting is one of better ones - given the low price, the usual fast load-time of the websites, and their general good server uptime.

Bottom line - $12 a year really is value for money.

Dudes, why keep complaining? there are a billion hosting companies. My favorite is -- which I have been with for about 6 years and have had fabulous hosting experiences with. Their techsupport is 24/7 by phone and downtime just minutes for the entire time I have been there.

"Question for Dydadot - if the problem is to do with the server hosting the basic websites, would an upgrade to the 'advanced' package solve this problem of website downtime even though we don't need the php/database stuff?"

--Technically, yes,  but only because Advanced Hosting uses other server(s) which were not targeted in this attack.

We believe the attacks are behind us and no outages have been reported recently.  We will be using this time to protect against future attacks,  so an upgrade to Advanced will not be necessary unless you need the additional features it provides.

Again,  we thank you all so much for your patience during this ordeal.  We know it was terribly inconvenient for those affected.

The server is up and your site is online.

Question for Dydadot - if the problem is to do with the server hosting the basic websites, would an upgrade to the 'advanced' package solve this problem of website downtime even though we don't need the php/database stuff?

Or would increasing the cost of the basic package enable you to avoid all this downtime?
