To the original poster: if you truly expected a registrar not to verify your information then you are accustomed to working with fly-by-night operators.
I would be worried about a registrar who did not do so. I have worked with GoDaddy, Tucows, and eNom before -- the big ones -- and they all need this verification.
Having a PayPal account is not verification enough. That is another organization that has verified you. Just because your phone company has your details does not mean that your cable provider won't need you to fill out your forms too.
After having worked with several of the largest registrars, I wonder what kept me so long from Dynadot. Their service is to the point, the interface should be a bloody case study in how to do domain registration interfaces, and the whole process is simple and transparent.
If you managed to mungle a relationship with a company this well organized and professional, then I'm afraid you're missing a few marbles somewhere. Dynadot is a superlative domain registrar. And I am from Singapore too.
definitely made a mistake posting those domains, lol. AirDownloads was great and looks like it was picked up shortly after posting here. Sorry dynadot did not work out for you I have been more than happy with the service here. Thanks for the smooth service dynadot
You made a mistake! Disorganized! You did not send me any notification for verification for my 2nd order. No emails - Nothing!
Don't teach me to use my common sense that "The verification applies to an entire account"
Since purchase was made on 10th, you sent an email for verification on 12th...shouldn't you include in email that my 2nd order domains could be deleted as well? In black & White you did not mention anything in the email. You just delete it without any notification. Why did you complete the order and sent confirmation in the first place? WHY?
Tell me how you verify my paypal business account with my passport when the account is in my business name?
Full of Rubbish!
Leave Dynadot? Not gonna happen. Best registrar I've had the pleasure to deal with. I've bought several hundred domains from Dynadot (From Singapore as it happens) with no problems whatsoever. If they want you to verify who you are and these checks are in place to minimize fraud and keep prices at a very competitive rate then I have no problems with that.
