How about a ledged service where the paying customer can get a better support system where it wont take 5 days to get a half-assed answer.

I also shouldnt have to wait for the transaction to process.

I might just want a refund and order cancell....

Credit card companies nowadays give money back pretty quickly if fraud was detected. I'm never hesitant to give out CC information.

You don't even need a credit card at all.

It's taking this long because you issued an eCheck which takes time to complete. Did you have nothing in your paypal account? if not it take funds straight from your bank account.

You can use a prepaid credit card and deposit any amount of money you want. it is more safe. After having this pre-paid credit card you can open a paypal account.. and shop in the net. I have many domains here and never had any problem with payments. I think staff here will find you a solution

You can also use a temporary (e.g. ShopSafe) credit card number - those can only be used once anyway, and have user selectable limits.

If you are not comfy with giving credit card details over the Internet you can fund your paypal account from your bank account.

I tend to agree - safety first - but there comes a time when service needs to be considered. So on that note if you have a problem use PayPal as your one and only "payment supplier".
Do it once by whatever method makes you happy and then you deal with companies that use that payment service. Gives you A grade security and allows you to get A grade service form the vendor.

Further PayPal gives you a certain amount of protection against failure to supply.

While I use the term PayPal there are several others.

An echeck takes time to clear just like a regular check. If you had paid using available balance or a credit card the order would have been processed immediately.

The time the transaction takes depends on who you use to transact the money and your bank.

I've used Paypal, and they are slow. I heard others are quite fast.

While the eCheck payment was pending, you or your bank still could have canceled it.
