Dynadot has a domain backorder service available in our marketplace. You can place a backorder on a pending delete domain and we will try to catch it for you as it "drops" or is re-released to the public for registration. To place a backorder request, you must first meet the following requirements: You must have $5 in account balance or have successfully completed an order of $5+ in the last 365 days. If you are new to Dynadot or do not have a recent order history, the easiest way to fulfill this requirement is by creating a prepay order. You cannot be banned from our auctions. You must set your marketplace default payment settings in your account. You are now ready to place a backorder request. Here is how it works: If there is only one backorder placed, an order will be created and we will do our very best to catch the domain for you. Please understand there is no guarantee we will be successful. These domains are being dropped by the central registry and there may be competition from other domain registrars. If there are multiple backorders for the same domain, a backorder auction will be held. The starting bid will be the backorder price and will be placed for the customer who first placed the backorder. Learn more about our backorders or how to place a bid in our backorder auctions.
The following information only apply to backorders for Afilias TLDs.Afilias has drastically increased the backorder cost for their TLDs. Dynadot wants to continue offering low pricing to customers through the two pricing tiers. High priority pricing level: We will attempt to catch the domain before they release. Low priority pricing level: We will attempt to catch the domain right when they release. The default pricing tier for each domain is our recommendation based on the EstiBot value. However, customers have the option to switch from high priority to lower priority pricing level and vice versa using the toggle. The starting price should reflect the change.All rules regarding backorder requests remain the same.
You should be able to remove a backorder request on a pending delete domain in our drop catch if at least 24 hours remain before the domain's drop time.To remove a backorder request for a pending delete domain, please follow these steps: Sign in to your Dynadot account. Select "Aftermarket" from the left-side menu bar and click "Backorder Requests" from the drop-down. Check the box next to the domain name(s) you wish to cancel. Press the "Delete Request" button to cancel your backorder request. Please note that when you placed your backorder, you agreed to pay for it. Any backorder requests that you do not remove will require payment or you risk being banned from our auctions.Learn more about our backorders or how to place a backorder request.
You can place a backorder for a domain that is about to be re-released to the public in our marketplace. While we support numerous backorder TLDs (top-level domains), Dynadot does not drop catch our full list of TLDs that are available for domain registration. We frequently add new TLDs to our supported backorder TLDs list. View our up-to-date list on our backorder page: click on "Filter" button, you can see a list of TLDs and search for the TLD you are looking for using the TLD filter. After a domain expires and passes its renewal grace period and redemption period, the domain is "dropped" or re-released to the public for registration. Before it's re-released, you can use a drop catch or backorder service to place a request to register the dropping domain. Then, the backorder service will attempt to register the domain for you as soon as it drops. Most domains are dropped from the central registry 75 days after their expiration date.Dynadot BackordersIf a domain receives one or more backorder requests, our drops system will try to catch it for you. If we're successful and you were the only backorder request, an order will be created for you and the domain will be placed into your account after the order is completed. If there are multiple backorder requests, there will be a backorder auction for the domain.To place a domain backorder request with us, the following is required: You must have recent order history with Dynadot. This means either having a balance of, or making a payment, that meets the minimum amounts listed below. If you're new to Dynadot, the easiest way to fulfill this requirement is by creating a prepay order. You must not be banned from our auctions. You will also need to set up your marketplace default payment settings in your account. Minimum payment/balance amount is $5 USD, or its equivalent. While conversion rates do fluctuate, that will be around 4.25 Euros, 35 RMB, 6.25 CAD, 100 MXN, or 3.75 GBP. Select "Aftermarket" from the left-side menu bar and "Backorder Requests" in the drop-down. Your backorder request(s) are listed on this page. There are 5 statuses that you may come across from the backorder requests page of the user control panel. Here are what they mean. ACTIVE: Domain names that you have placed backorder requests for. Status will change after the name has dropped. SUCCESS: The domain was successfully secured on your behalf, either by you being the only person who placed the request or winning it at auction. AUCTION: The domain is currently in auction. It is open for bids. FAILED: The domain was not successfully secured for your account. It means we have failed to catch the name. DIDN'T WIN: The domain was not successfully secured for your account. It was won by someone else in auction. Note: We send email notification when we successfully catch the domain name that you requested. If you are the only person who requested the name, we will automatically create an order for you. If there were multiple requests, the domain will go to a public auction where everyone has a chance to win the domain.
No, we do not limit the number of backorders that can be requested. We used to have a limit, but we have since removed it, so anyone can place as many backorders as they would like. Yes, we have an awesome domain backorder service available in our marketplace!We offer backorders on the following top-level domains: .COM, .NET, .ORG, .CO, .TV, .CC, .US, .BIZ, .INFO etc.You can place a domain backorder request for a domain that is pending deletion if you have completed at least one successful order with us in the last 365 days and haven't been banned from our auctions. If you don't qualify for the former, you can prepay into your account now. You will also need to set your marketplace default payment settings in your account.After you place a domain backorder, we will try to catch the domain as it drops, but we cannot guarantee that will catch it for you. If we do catch it and you're the only person who placed a backorder request, then an order will be created for you and you will have 47 hours to pay for the domain. Then, the domain will be placed in your account once your order is complete. If you do not pay for the domain, you will be banned from our auctions.
