here's a question.

is my email address dependent on my domain registration or my web hosting (with email account)?

i have a domain with dynadot which uses ns servers from my web hosting sourced elsewhere.

The domain email would need be hosted by your web host. Or you can use a separate mail host, but you would need to add the mail host record into the name servers you are using.
