Yesterday, i maked a prepay order (72 dollards), payed by my friend in France. (im from Tunisia)
And tody i received this mail :

"To minimize fraud, sometimes we ask our customers to verify their identity. Please send us a copy of your photo ID (drivers license or passport).

1. Send by fax: +1-415-869-2893 (secure)
2. Send by email attachment: [email protected] (not secure)

If we do not receive this within 2 days, we reserve the right to cancel your domain name or web hosting."

And I don't have a passpart or driver liscense !

Im very disappointed !

Please find a solution or retun the money to my friend. Thanks

He just cannot do it by herself because there are no international credit card in tunisia ;)

it is not a joke - it is to stop people using stolen credit cards

just ask your friend to send a copy of HIS passport, driving licence or french ID card - as long as the name matches the credit card used for payment I would think that dynadot would accept this as OK

(i do not work for dynadot so why email support and ask them?)

Where`s the joke ?  Sounds suspicious to me, "your friend in France paid the money" ?  Why didn`t you pay it yourself.  Why haven`t you got a passport or drivers license ?
