transfer a domain to Dynadot

If I would like to transfer a domain to Dynadot, should I always to pay a fee for one year. How does it go with another registrars, when I would like to transfer a domain to them.

In general, a 1 year renewal is included in the transfer cost. There are some cases where an extra year is not added. Also, UK domain transfers do not include a domain renewal, but transferring a UK domain is usually free.
