Performance: Dynadot DNS vs. External DNS

I just wanted to ask if there is a performance difference (time it takes to resolve the server IP) between using Dynadot's DNS (ns1.dynadot.com etc.) or my own host's.

Also, what about reliability? Are they always online, 24/7?

I'm not sure how much of a performance difference there would be. There might be tools available on the web to check response times. Our name servers are very reliable. They are on all the time, 24/7.
