nameserver edit claiming valid nameserver doesn't exist

I am trying to set the nameservers of my domain to ns1.a2hosting.com and ns2.a2hosting.com but the tool will not accept them, claiming they do not exist. They DO exist, (69.39.89.119 and 67.18.111.123 respectively). Does this have anything to do with not being able to contact the root servers?

It appears that the name servers ns1.a2hosting.com and ns2.a2hosting.com aren't registered with the Central Registry. Please have your web host register those name servers.
