Issues getting domain to point at minecraft server

I am pretty sure I followed the guide located at https://www.dynadot.com/community/help/question.html?aid=879 properly, but when I add my domain in the server list within minecraft it is unable to locate it. Have I miss configured a setting during the setup process? when I do the iplookup for the domain it shows the correct IP, but when I ping the address from the command prompt it's timing out and giving a different IP address

Edit: Maybe I am being impatient? I did just purchase the domain today....
