How to transfer domains from dynadot to godaddy
6/16/2008 18:40
I bought 10 domains at auction (cheap) and I did not notice that they were at dynadot. I would like to move them to my godaddy account where I have a bunch of domains, but I can not find out how to do this on the dynadot site. Dynadot support ignored my request for information (no reply). How do I initiate the change of registrar and is there a fee involved from dynadot? Any help would be appreciated.

Here is how you transfer domains away from Dynadot:

How do I transfer my domain away from Dynadot?

We're sorry to see your domain go! There are a few things you should do to prepare your domain to be transferred - and you should do this before starting your transfer order at your new registrar.

Prep Steps:

  1. Make sure your domain is older than 60 days, i.e. has been registered longer than 60 days and has not been transferred within the last 60 days.
  2. Make sure your domain is not about to expire. You can check its expiration date on our "Manage Domains" page. Your transfer may still go through even if it expires during the process, but this is not guaranteed, so we recommend starting the transfer process at least 2 weeks before the domain's expiration date.
  3. Double check that your Whois email address is accurate and accessible. Your new registrar may send email there to confirm the transfer. If it is not correct, you should update your Whois email. If you are using our privacy service, we will forward the email to your account email.
  4. If the domain is purchased from our Aftermarket, please wait until the Auction Lock or Buy Lock ends.

Now, if the domain is ready to be transferred, please follow these steps to find the authorization code:

  1. On "Manage Domains" page, click on the domain name you want to transfer (it should be a link).
  2. Scroll down to the "Authorization Code" section.
    1. If your domain is transfer locked, press "Unlock Account" to unlock your account first.
    2. Once your account is unlocked, press the "Unlock" button to unlock your domain.
  3. The authorization code which is a unique string of random letters and numbers will now be displayed in the "Authorization Code" section.
  4. Make sure you leave your domain unlocked during the transfer process; however, we recommend locking your account again to ensure its security.
  5. Now you can provide this authorization code to your new registrar to initiate the transfer.
  6. After the transfer is initiated, it may take some time for our system to be notified. Once it is, a transfer away order will be created and the "Transfer Away" email will be sent to you for confirmation.

Exception:

.UK transfer is different with most transfers. Find out how to transfer your .UK domain away.
