How to I create a cname record?

the only way i find in help is to create cname record is by forced hosting from dynadot i want to use my own server as my host

ie ns1.mynewregisterdomain.com cname > my ip address

It is a bit confusing.

Just follow the instructions in that post, it works... The confusing part is the "use Dynadot DNS" button. It implies you will be using dynadot instead of your hosting nameservers, but that's not what happens.
