I'm trying to set up the domain name www.tyka-praxis.de to point to a squarespace website i built (http://dr-tyka.squarespace.com) Squarespace instructs me to set the CNAME record to point to www.squarespace.com but i get the error message "Could not set DNS for tyka-praxis.de. Error: Name servers for DE domains must respond to DNS queries for the domain before being set."
If i then try to set the DNS servers to dynadot's DNS servers (ns1-geo.dynadot.com) I get a very similar error again: "Name servers for DE domains must respond to DNS queries for the domain before being set."
I'm completely lost - what do I have to do to get this working ?
Why am I unable to set my name servers for my .DE domain?
The central registry for .DE domains requires that all name servers respond to DNS queries before they can be set to a .DE domain. This means that not only will your name servers need to be valid, they will also need to be properly configured to serve your specific domain and have diverse IP addresses associated to them.
If you receive an error when attempting to set name servers for your .DE domain, it usually means one or more of these requirements are not met. In this case, we recommend running a Pre-Delegation Check. This should help you pin-point misconfigurations so you can inform your DNS provider or web host for resolution.
