I'm planning to buy a domain from dynadot. Do i understand this right that dynadot does not support DDNS (Dynamic DNS). So if i want to host a website at home with a dynamic IP adress i have to use another company which offers dynamic DNS and i have to use CNAME to direct my new domain on dynadot's DNS-Server to an entry in the DDNS-server.
Thank's. I just registered my new domain. I have a dlink router and they offer very limited and free support for ddns (dlinkddns.com). But i'm happy to have an alternative solution (afraid.org).
checkout afraid.org, register your domain and point the dns to ns1.afraid.org ns2 ns3 and ns4 there, you will have almost full management of the zone and dynamic dns support via a url or dedicated client, they have a shared system so might not be what you want sometimes i remember i was also using dollardns.com which offers you direct zone access (you can edit the zone file directly), and they offer dynamic dns as well, plus the guy running it is a great guy :-)
