SUGGESTION TOOL & DYNADOTS PEODOPHILE PERVERSION
7/18/2008 00:13
About 6 months ago probably longer, I was looking at investing into domain names with regards to one laptop per child.

Well I searched for OneLaptopPerChild and was horrified to find the word pornography came up a lot in the suggestions.

I dediced to see what would happen if I put in just the world child and my hair turnt white with HORROR.

I immediately contacted Dynadot with regards to this matter.
Over 6 months later and strangely they have done nothing about it.

When I did write I warned dynadot I would move my 97 domain names over to another registrar.

I am now in the process of doing this.

I thought it would be a good idea to let you ALL KNOW.

Laters.

Phicore and user_1186 are correct, we don't have control over the keywords that are suggested.  The names you see are the result of a 3rd party suggestion tool.

I thought it would be a good idea to let you ALL KNOW.

In other words, you feel like Dynadot's ignoring you, so you decided to make as much of an issue about it as you possibly could. By posting your information here, all you've done is to make it public knowledge and potentially exploitable. So much for your public concern.

Also, it's very unlikely that Dynadot has control over those search results. About all they can do is look for some kind of alternative.

dont worry, they likely dont support this kind of stuff, its just a program behind that tool, maybe its not that easy to change it (closed source solution from someone else, or using some proprietary database, i have no idea), dynadot is great why not give them another chance after they go through this post?

Just checked it myself and yes, that's weird.
Where are these keywords from?

However, I don't see a reason to transfer your domains. Just use another suggestion tool (gladly, there are hundreds of them on the web). And remember, the really good domains are those created by your imagination, not by a robot.

It's not Dynadot's fault that people mainly search for such things on the web (I guess their database is built from top search keywords) but indeed they should have done something during these 6 months.
