How does the SMS Settings help verify our account? How does it work? How does it increase the security of our account?

The SMS is lock is simply an added layer of security. If you enable the SMS lock in your account, you'd need to enter in a secret code in order to unlock your domains and account. The only way to get this code is by having an SMS (Text) message sent to your Cellular phone.
