SMS 2nd factor not working?

I went to enable SMS auth for extra security. But clicking the button, several times, to send a test token did nothing. Is SMS not working at your end? Or is it simply way slow and I will see my test tokens in a few hours? (In which case it would not be useful as a 2nd factor for logging in.)
