Remove identifiers from WHOIS when using Privacy option
1/7/2014 12:35

Hi, one of the reasons for using the Privacy option, is to stop people easily linking domain ownership to one entity.

But even with Privacy enabled, Dynadot makes it relatively easy for someone to find domains under one account as they give the accounts name in the domain contacts information i.e.

Registrant Name: dyandot_name c/o Dynadot Privacy

Admin Name: dyandot_name c/o Dynadot Privacy

Tech Name: dyandot_name c/o Dynadot Privacy

Can you please change that ASAP and use a generic name such as other registrars use.

Namesilo example:

Registrant Name:Domain Administrator

Admin Name:Domain Administrator

Tech Name:Domain Administrator

Thanks

You'll be able to transfer once your domains are 60 days old. After March 23, 2014.

i just found it. why you make me pay money for something what is not really a privacy whois? it not service i have paid money for (privacy whois) you are offering. You must explain it at checkout/product description page.
I will asking for refund and will move my domains from here.

Do you know what is expired domains for seo purposes??? if search engines will track one domain to another, domain not will provide any values. Your decision is not suitable at current seo.

I am also unable to move out my domains from here. Paid in other registrar for domain transfer, but unable to transfer it. Oh!

another option could be to allow people the option to choose full privacy or partial privacy (or none at all). I know of another place that does it that way. giving the customer the choice is what its all about. once they know the risk and drawbacks to each option, they can be responsible their own decision.

It still blocks all your other information. We do understand your concern, however, and appreciate your feedback.

so having whois privacy is a waste of time & $$'s then, as you make it very easy for people to connect the dots

We have made a conscious decision to keep the Registrant information visible. It helps prevent any sticky ownership issues.
