Hi, I had bought SSL certs via Dynadot in the past, and I understand it sends verification email to the domain owner before releasing the cert details. But this time I bought the cert, it sent the email to "[email protected] (PM me for details)" even though the email address "[email protected] (PM me for details)" is not even listed as the contact email in WHOIS or anywhere.
I spoke to your live chat support (chat session 28214 )It is not about whether I received the email or not and I'm afraid the person I spoke to don't understand my issue well enough. It is not whether I received the email or not. It is about: The email address it sent to "[email protected] (PM me for details)" is not the correct email address to send to. In the past when I bought RapidSSL from you guys, at least it sent to the correct email address which is the contact information as listed in WHOIS. But today when I bought the AlphaSSL cert from you guys, it sent to an email address which was unlisted. You guys sent to "[email protected] (PM me for details)". My question is, where did you get that contact email address from, when it's not even listed in the first place?
The staff I spoke to said this will need to be forwarded to the tech team for them to respond but I'm not sure exactly how long it might take and I like to have a second person to help take a look at this issue as well if possible by posting this on your forum... hoping someone will be here to assist.
Note: I have been a Dynadot client and user for longer than 5 years.
The SSL provider chooses where to send the approver email and the default address they send to is generally an admin, administrator, postmaster, webmaster, or postmaster @yourdomain.com email address. We can resend the approver email to any of those email addresses.
