Privacy Guard Question
8/18/2009 10:34
I have a question, its maybe silly but I really don’t understand this matter…
could someone enlight me whay DD do not replace site owner  name for “privacy guard” for example and left original name in who is when other privacy guar does that no problem,
Only here I found this oddness???

Further thanks.

The services that fully hide your identity are not ideal if you ever have to prove that you own the domain. As soon as your name no longer appears on the domain's WHOIS record, you technically no longer own the domain. While you may still have control over the domain via your account (provided by the registrar), if you become unable to log-in to that account, there would be no way for you to prove that you own the domain, and thus, no way for you to regain ownership of the domain. Hence, Dynadot's system is ideal.

I understand the terms of ICANN, but how it is that other registers hide whole personal data and you decide to not to???

The Registrars who offer a full privacy service and replace your domain are buying the domain for you and then giving you a license to use it.

At this point in time, we choose not to offer a similar service.

I already get similar answer through email, but for me it crucial to avoid my name to be seen…

And no, I do not planning any scam, I just want my name to be private… I have acc on community portals in my country … and prefer to be not lurked by who is.

Is there any extra fee for full who is guard???  But now  how I suppose, my name is already in site history.. am I right???

Since ICANN considers the person or entity listed as the "Registrant" to be the owner, we leave your name on the WHOIS record to avoid confusion about who is the owner of the domain.
