Price increase
10/20/2007 17:39
Hello,

I learned about the price increase well ago, though I am a bit disappointed that some registrars (including Dynadot) used this Verisign price increase to round up their prices.

The Verisign price increase was for 7% and Dynadot prices increased more.

I am a customer with more than 100 names at Dynadot, and I appreciate the level of support given, the multiple payment methods, and the easy interface.

But as a domain investor, I need also to find the cheapest place for my domains. I hope this was not discussed before as I did not search previous threads.

Best wishes,

Alex

The ICANN fee came after Dynadot set the price of $7.99 five years ago, then they have the increased cost of processing credit cards, etc.

If you have a portfolio of 1,000 domains then you're not paying a dollar increase, it's .51 cents.

I don't know what other price increases you know over the past years. Verisign raised the prices now, and will raise it in the future too.

But the only price change I know is the ICANN fee that got lowered from 0.25 to 0.22.

But, again I appreciate Dynadot, and out of more than 20 registrars I dealt ith, I think it is in the top 3 from any pov.

But when one has a portfolio of more than 1000 domains, 20 cents per domain is a factor that may be considered when thinking of moving the portfolio.

Best wishes,

Alex

I too appreciate their level of support, the multiple payment methods, and the easy interface. And since I want these things to continue, I don't begrudge Dynadot the increase that they've long had coming. They've absorbed a lot of other increases over the years, so this was as good a time as any to begin recouping that.
