It took Dynadot 2 days to register idn and was finally registered today despite being paid for at time why ?. Again I register domain and pay for it now and still 5 minutes later not registered .Why ?
At least let us know it is no longer instant and if it is one we want to get immediately then can reg elsewhere.
There isn't always a delay. Most domain orders that enter our system are processed instantly. There are a small fraction, however, that our system keeps in a processing status until approved by our Staff.
I'm not sure it makes sense to make an announcement to everyone when most people aren't effected by a registration delay.
j_s_narre_warren_au: Unfortunately, 5 days isn't always long enough. I believe PayPal has a 45 day window where they can reverse charges. Credit Card companies can go back even further than that.
Perhaps Dynadot should have a policy of waiting say 5 days for funds to clear for new customers.
Nasty thing is this claim back feature on credit cards and paypal. Sure hope Dynadot presses theft charges against those who do this. Could Dynadot take those domains and later on sell them?
OK I rang Dynadot. They told me reason for the delay in processing is fraud prevention. I can fully understand that, BUT they should tell customers via website or mass email etc that there will be a delay. I accept the need for such prevention because if I was a Registrar and ICANN took away ability to reverse a transaction if some scammer comes along and regs 2000 domains and then reverves his paypal or uses scam credit card then Dynadot will end up out of pocket. However I reiterate, COMMUNICATION and letting people know is what is missing in this.
