MX Settings not staying

I have been trying for two days to setup the MX records for my domain pointing to Google and the settings never seem to stay. I click on the Save Settings button, then come back and its as if nothing I did has taken effect. What am I doing wrong here?

You cannot use our email forwarding if your domain is set to name servers. You can only set that up if the domain is parking, forwarding, stealth forwarding, or using our DNS.

The error I am getting is
"Please select one of our DNS services (parking, forwarding, stealth forwarding, or web hosting) before setting up your email forwarding settings."

I do not want to use your services, I used you as a registrar and to do DNS. Can this be done?
