Assume one person is holding up the grace que (which I am currently in)... WHY should ALL Dynadot customers be affected? Isn't that COMPLETE BS? Shouldn't there be an ACCOUNT limit to help more with the que? If there's some domain taster who doesn't give two sh!ts about everyone else and wants to get his/her domains deleted and goes ahead and puts in 500 domains in que, the rest of us all eat crap while Mr. Domain Taster here gets his 500 domains ahead of us.
I think the whole grace deletions que should be re-thought up. Knowing that people are using Dynadot's system to taste domains and what not makes me hesitant to continue reg'in here if I know I have slim to none chance of deleting my domains if I need them out. Possibly limit grace deletions to 50/account??? Of course this might still be abused to some extent, but it might free up some resources.
Just an idea... it's definitely frustrating waiting in que of 120 for a domain that was misspelled.
I am fairly comfortable in saying Dynadot appreciates my business. So, it was worth me mentioning something that was ticking me off a little.
I was also thinking the same about grace deletions + how much you spend, but then :P domain tasters will probably win with that also, lol! unless they've been just using account credit. Maybe something along the lines of lowering the reserve where you will be GUARANTEED at least 5 deletions/month.
Peak is at 10%, so at 9%, capped and those that don't have anything in queue will get to delete 100%... if that sort of makes sense. Might complicate the current "simple" system tremendously, but might be worth making the customers happy.
I can go on and on about why some might deserve some perks on staying with Dynadot, but I'm sure it's not worth mentioning.
Little late at night (or early in the morning!) so hopefully this message makes sense.

I agree that Dynadot should consider implementing a more fair system. However, you are failing to realize that those tasters are spending much more money with Dynadot than you probably are. So why would Dynadot cut off the hand that feeds them?
I think the amount of grace deletions you get should be based off how much money you've spent with the company!
You know this whole stemmed from me making some mistakes while registering international domain names. One might think that it's pretty hard to notice whether you have registered "fregamesonline" vs "freegamesonline" in English, but when it's another language, it's extremely hard to spot (especially when you don't speak any other languages).
Normally I try to get the words verified by native speakers afterwards, and, obviously, some do end up being mistakes. That's where grace deletions come in at times, though extremely limited.
I agree. I suggest limiting deletions to one or two per account (per month).
It's not right to give the greedy (who reg left and right) the right to hog up deletion resources. The grace period was never meant for domain tasting but for situations where someone's spelling is, uh, occasionally challenged.
I have NEVER done a deletion anywhere, but I can see where one might make a spelling error.
he does have a point actually, there needs to be some limits in place to at least guarantee lets say 100 domain deletions system wide for those that arent tasters and delete few domains, if none.. if those 100 reservations arent used by the end of the month, let them be used for last minute tasters :-)
i think dynadot has better stats to help them make this work (stats > how many people delete accidentally registered domains), and it is kinda their moral obligation
it should be so because i register far more domains than deleting, and for the case i misstype or (likely) just change my mind, i should be able to delete if icann provides this.. so like i said, he does have a point
Are you serious? Do you still not see the logic in the whole explanation?
The whole point is that if you have someone hogging the que for their 50-100+ domains that a person that's deleting their 1-2 domains shouldn't have to be sucked into those that took our option to delete our domains instantaneously away.
Amazing how you'd consider that whining. Good thing I take criticism well and still provide my "food for thought" to make Dynadot a better company. If you feel like those that took the ability to correct a mistake away from us should further sucker us into waiting in line, then great. X out and move on to another thread.
Disgusting how people like you can be so rude when it's regarding something that will benefit others.
"It's queue BTW, No wonder ..."
Point proven.
