Verisign is offering promotional pricing on .net and .com IDN registrations from July 1 through October 31, 2008.

A colleague gives me this info from the ICANN Meeting:

.info registry is offering free names - not sure if it includes IDN's.

Verisign, the Registry operator for .com/.net, is offering special pricing on one and two-year registrations of Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs) through October 31, 2008. The Registry cost for .com IDNs will be $5.00, while .net IDNs will be $3.00


Will Dynadot be passing these savings on to customers? If so:

1. What will the temporary new reg. price be, and will it be lower for volume holders?

2. Will it apply to extensions of existing registrations?

3. Will it apply to inbound transfers from other registrars?

Who qualifies for these free names?

Do you have any direct links to the free .INFO promotion ?  I remember Afilias doing this promotion back in 2004 / 2005 and it being a great success.  I would love to see it back again !
