How let's get something right from the start - I like DynaDot but that does not mean I'll let a poor deal uncommented on.
I have a number of domains parked here with advertising. Out of the revenue DynaDot takes about 30%. No problem here. They pay you by way of account credit only. Still no problem. But here it comers.
DynaDot as most will know will give you Bulk pricing when you spent $xxx per year. THEY DO NOT INCLUDE REVENUE MONEY> Now why does this cheese me off and why is this a stupid arrangement?
It does not matter where the money comes from - the simple fact is it is spent and from it DynaDot make a further profit. (Remember they already took 30%) so it should be included.
Now why is the policy so stupid? If DynaDot gets 30% of advertising revenue and a small site makes $50 a year they get a nett $15. They only make $1-$2 per domain per year on registrations so the advertising revenue is highly more profitable for DynaDot. Now you can register with DynaDot and point to another “Advertising Host Service” that pays around the same level but pays cash. You can then register with DynaDot but DynaDot does get all that advertising revenue.
If DynaDot does not correct this injustice I and a number of other domain owners will continue to register domains at DynaDot but use other third party advertising services which means DynaDot get the low profit registration services – I get a discount anyway due to volume – but DynaDot losses the high profit revenue system.
That may be so - but this is a cake and eat it situation. They make considerably more from my advertising than they do selling me domains. They have to choose wether they wish to keep the advertising revenue which this month should nett them around $250 which means I would have to register some 150 odd domains to equal that profit.
So they can hold on to their say $20 a month in non discounts on the domains and loose the $250 in advertising revenue they make. Personally I think it is a no brainer.
