I hate the new beta. Its more like a candy factory website than anything else. Its too crazy with colors and also too damn dark. Its layout is hard to understand and requires too much thinking.

I don't like the color, it's too dark.

I've recently started using the Dynadot site on a daily basis.

New beta logo is cool. Header bar & menu is nice. Beta pop-down search isn't very functional, should be smaller and available by default as opposed to looking for it.

Current site isn't too bad, really, switching between public dynadot.com and dynadot.com/account is a little annoying (requires clicking home to search a new domain) - all menu items should be accessible when you log-in.

I'm not sure that the current site makes me feel cheerful when I arrive, but I do agree the beta layout is too dark. Just needs to be fast & functional. Something basic and business-ey.

Also the current dashboard-style homepage is nice, I like having an overview of auctions and marketplace.. maybe when I login to My Account I can have a feed of near-closing-auctions, latest tweets with specials and stuff like that?

Perhaps Whois deserves a better menu, I didn't even know I could Whois via Dynadot, now I will.

Cheers.

I agree! The current web site always makes me feel cheerful when I arrive, and curious to browse just in case an interesting domain name might catch my fancy. Everything is clear, obvious, simple to use, and serene, yet lively. It's my favorite of all the many sites I saw back when I was trying to decide on a new registrar.

The new BETA, on the other hand, makes me feel like I just arrived in a garage from which I want to escape as soon as possible. If I decide to resist the urge to get away and instead browse a bit, everything requires more effort than with the current design, and the ugly darkness and garishness continue on every page.

Contrary to what the designers surely hoped, this BETA, far from being a fresh, edgy look, strikes me as an old-hat, ugly, often-tried attempt to be modern. The first time I personally noticed this type of design change mistake being made was 25 years ago, and I'm sure it had been happening for many, many years before I was born and got old enough to start spotting it. Darkness and garishness are not new and exciting. They're just stress-inducing and repellent - that's the reason they're not already more common. It's not that no one has thought of trying them before.

Please, please stick with your current, unusually successful theme, making small changes as needed to extend it, rather than throwing it out.
