The software upgrade we made a few weeks ago worked for a while,  but today,  the forwarding servers were again locked up.  We will be moving to a new server that will not produce this issue.  We do realize that this has been an ongoing issue and very much appreciate your patience.  The upgrade should be completed by the end of the day.

On 2nd thought maybe I can stay with Dynadot but use a 3rd party dns service.  Will be time consuming, but clearly necessary.

Since this is apparently a permanent problem, I have begun to make inquiries about alternative registrars.

Voilà a new thread I've created at dnforum:

I'm still hoping you can do something to convince me to stay.

I assure you that the issue has NOT "been fixed".

Today traffic is way down.  Wonder why.  Forwarding again not working.

Unfortunately I will need to proceed with moving my business away from Dynadot.  I love everything about the company, but forwarding is not some minor issue.  My whole business depends on it.

Sorry for the delay in our response, but the issue has been fixed.

Please fix this immediately or I will need to look at switching registrars.

The very slow forwarding, or non-fuctional forwarding, is killing my Web site.  That's not cool 'cause I've put a lot of time into this.

Thanks for the advice.  We have dedicated a server to domain forwarding.  We may well need to upgrade that server,  the software fix seems to be working so far,  but we're still monitoring.

Good to hear there is a plan in place.

I would think that merely redirecting traffic to a different address wouldn't take a lot of bandwidth.  That makes me think maybe you should use a dedicated server just for forwarding?

Anyway, thank you for recognizing this is a really important issue to your customers.

Hello,

We know this has been an ongoing issue and thank you all for your patience.

We completed a software update this morning that we hope will solve the problem.  We will monitoring the server for the next week to see if that is indeed the case.  If not,  we will be taking further steps.
