Backorder domain name is useless
3/9/2016 03:34
Today I placed a backorder request on domain name. I see in whois of this domain name that it was catched successfully by Dynadot and pushed to another dynadot user. But status of my backorder request is FAILED. No 3-day auction. No really help from support. No domain name. They simply gave this domain name to another user, who did not placed any backorder, pay less money, and register domain name using API BOT.

Perhaps DD Staff should write more about this subject so that A-Z and others get more experienced from all the work you and people like me could help them with. It took going through same confusions myself some 10-14 years ago to learn. Been on at least half dozen Registrars since 1995 (& wish I'd bought a lot more then) and have learned to compare importances of each, including some French DIY one. For someone with more than a few domains, Dynadot is the best, in terms of functionality and economy.

Yes, users are more than welcome to backorder with multiple Registrars. :)

A-Z
I have found this to be a fact, what DD support says here. It's always a question where a Registrar is on the foodchain, and to prevent this type of stuff happening to me, from years of playing the game, I find it best to sign up to two or three Registrars -- and then let them duke it out. Fact is we do not pay for it until they get it with DD. However I did have to pay a $25.00 fee at Godaddy and I forget how much at Enom. On my last attempt this worked for me; DD got it before Godaddy did, so I still have bucks on account there for another. If a domain is that important to you, I recommend not depending upon any one Registrar.

Users aren't charged for a backorder unless we successfully catch the domain and sometimes someone else will be able to register before out system can grab it.

Hmm, our records show lboro.info was hand-registered.

The backorder system is automated and this doesn't sound like something the system would do. We're happy to take a look at this for you. What is the domain name in question?
