API registration and return for credit

Hi,
Why does the API only allow one registration at a time, while it allows 50 searches at a time?

Why doesn't the API allow return for credit?

thanks

Sorry, we don't have a time frame yet.

Most of these API improvement requests are way older than 1 year...and it doesn't seem that any of them had been implimented yet...even though it was stated that they were added to the feature request list (whatever that means).  This is not good for business, I wanted to use your API, but am no longer sure if I will...

Can anybody please give a time when these features will be added?

We have multiple registrations per request on our feature request list, but I don't know when/if it will be added. I believe the api allows only 1 registration at time to prevent a backup of waiting registration requests.

Podzap is right,

Depending on the situation, you may need to order bulk amounts of domains in a short window of time.

If your API allows more requests to process, more domains from a list can be purchased in the same time frame.

Any chance of adding multiple requests to the API or speeding up the current response time?

Hi,
Thanks for the response. Yes, I can read the API documentation. My question was "why does it only allow one registration at a time?". More importantly, are you going to implement multiple registrations per request with the API?

A registration API that only handles one request at a time is not very useful based on the reasons that a person would be using the registration API in the first place.

Grace period deletions via the API are not that big of a deal, but certainly would be nice to have.

As stated on our Dynadot API (BETA) page:

Only one request can be processed at a time. So please wait for your current request to finish before sending another request.

Sorry, our API does not support grace period deletions at this time.  You will need to submit all grace period deletion requests from within your Dynadot account.  Please follow these steps to submit a grace period deletion request:

How do I submit a grace period deletion request?

Dynadot is one of the few registrars that supports domain tasting also know as grace deletions. Most domain extensions support grace deletions and most give you up to 118 grace hours to submit your grace deletion request.

To submit a grace deletion request, please follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your Dynadot account.
  2. Select "My Domains" from the left-side menu bar and click "New Domains" in the drop-down.
  3. Check the box next to the domain name(s) you wish to grace delete.
  4. Under the "Action" drop-down, click on the "Request Delete for Credit" button to submit your grace period deletion request.

You can also submit bulk grace deletion requests.

Please note:

  • Not all domains can be deleted for credit. Check out our grace deletion chart to see which of our domain extensions allow grace deletions and the number of grace hours allotted. Any that cannot be grace deleted are listed as "none" under the "Grace Period" column and will be listed as having 0.00 grace hours left in the "New Domains" section of our control panel after registration.
  • Even if your domain is eligible for grace deletion and your request is submitted within the grace hours allotted, some domain extensions have a maximum rate of deletion, which limits the number of grace deletions relative to the number of registrations. If we are at the max rate, your request will be put on the wait list. You can see which domain extensions have a max rate, check out their current rate, and see how many requests are on our wait list all on our grace deletion chart.
  • If your grace deletion request is successful, you will receive a refund in the form of account credit minus any grace deletion fees. Most domain extensions have a fee of $1-$3, though some have no fee and some have higher fee. All fees are listed under the "Deletion Fee" column of our grace deletion chart.
  • If you would like this account credit reversed and a refund issued to your original payment method instead, please contact Dynadot support as soon as possible. Refunds can be issued within 60 days of the payment date.
  • Backorder domains cannot be grace deleted.
  • Finally, please keep in mind that we cannot guarantee that any domain grace deletion will be successful.
