Asked to send a copy of drivers licence
11/20/2011 23:52
Hello
I am new to Dynadot as I have just purchased a domain that is hosted here. I began my account yesterday and I have just been asked to send a scanned copy of my drivers licence to info@dynadot.com in order to verify my identity or Dynadot reserves the right to cancel my domain.

I just want to know if this is a normal procedure or whether I should be wary of this being a fraudulent email in order to capture my identity?

Have other Dynadot members been sent a similar email and have they been required to do the same thing?

I have registered domains with 10 other registrars and never been asked to send a copy of a sensitive identity document to hold a domain name.

Can someone please just let me know if this is normal?
Thanks
