Is this something new? Why is that? Can it be unlimited for some small monthly fee? Thanks.

The quota isn't new.  We've always had a quota.

We lowered the quota due to complaints that data was being mined from our Whois servers.

Those of you who are Bulk Customers should consider using the API to search for domains.

Anyone from Dynadot to write something about this?

yes, its very lame. yesterday you could do 20, now its like 3..what the hell? even 20 sucks. i could see limiting it to 50 or 100 but shit man. you'd think you want people using the site for whatever and have a chance at buying something than having them leave for another site because they can't do whois look ups.

Very reminiscent of Network Solutions (who do at least still display the creation and expiration dates of domains after their quota has been reached).

I was only able to look up ONE whois today before the quota message appeared. Thanks Dynadot :-(

It is a really bad thing. I agree to pay some monthly fee for unlimited whois search (if that few would not be higher than few $). Or number of domains in account could be used for allowed number of whois search allowed per day.

This limitation is really not good!

Yes it's new and it sucks. A big thumbs down from me.
