A domain restore is the process of recovering a domain name that

1. was previously registered through Dynadot,
2. but was deleted after the expiration of the renewal grace period due to non-renewal by the registrant,
3. and before it is released to the public for general registration.

All restores include a 1-year renewal.

Why a domain restore costs higher:

• This is a time-consuming process that is not automated.
• We have to submit paperwork to complete the restore.
• The domain has already been deleted. Most of the price you pay goes to the Zentrales Register, not us.

Three main periods after the domain expiration:

1. Renewal Grace Period

• When a domain expires, you can still erneuern it after the expiration date for a certain Verlängerungsfrist (typically 30 days) at the regular renewal price.

2. Redemption Period

• If you don't renew during the renewal grace period, the domain enters the Erlösungsfrist(typisch 30 Tage).
• At this stage, the domain is deleted from the registry but not yet available for public registration.
• You can still get it back, but this is called a domain restore.

3. Pending Delete and Release

• If you don't restore during the redemption period, the domain will be in pending delete period (typically 5 days) and will be fully deleted and released for public registration after this period.

BITTE BEACHTEN:

1. A domain restore is not guaranteed.
2. Some domain extensions don't support restoration. Please check out the "restore" column within our TLD listing page for more.

5. Most domains may go to our Abgelaufene Auktion 30 days after they expire, you can place a bid for a chance to recover the domain. However, recovery is not guaranteed, and once a bid has been placed, the domain can no longer be restored directly to your account.
